Pitstop Places

Methodology: This study is based on a survey of 3,007 students and truckers across the United States, conducted in March 2026. Respondents were asked about the party towns and nightlife stops they consider the most fun along the way to major spring break destinations such as Panama City Beach, Gulf Shores, South Padre Island, Daytona Beach, and Miami Beach. The survey was carried out online using a nationally distributed panel of college-aged adults and recent graduates who reported traveling for spring break. Participants were asked to identify which towns, cities, or nightlife hubs they see as the best “pitstop party” locations during road trips to popular beach destinations. Responses were collected from individuals across all U.S. regions to capture a wide range of travel routes and spring break traditions. Results were analyzed to highlight the locations most frequently identified as memorable or popular stopover party spots before reaching the final beach destination.
